74 days: Parents of abducted FUG students stage protest in Gusau

Parents of abducted students of Federal University Gusau stormed Zamfara State Government House demand immediate release of their children from bandits.

Addressing newsmen at the government house entrance a mother one of the kidnapped students Hajara Zakari from Niger state said they were ready to die in the course of fighting for the release of their daughters.

She accused Federal, Zamfara state government and the management of Federal university Gusau for what she described as nonchalant attitude in making effort to rescue their abducted students.

“We met the Vice Chancellor of the university but unfortunately he was telling us “I can’t do anything ” and he left us” she lamented

Hajara in tears said, Zamfara State Government has never contacted them to console or sympathy with them as such she vowed to remain at the government house until her daughter is rescued.

On his part, Malam Hafiz Jimoh from Katsina state father of a 300 level Biochemistry student who was also crying lamented that seventy four days after the abduction of their children no any communication between them and the government and they don’t know whereabout their children.

“They (bandits) contacted us once and said the issue is between them and the government not the parents so we shouldn’t worry” he revealed
