NDE Engages 42 Zamfara youths on profitable skills

In its continued effort to rescue unemployment among the Nigerian youths, the National Directorate of Employment, NDE has engaged youths in 18 states on community base training scheme (CBTS) to equip them with skills for self-reliance.

Director General of the NDE Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo made the disclosure during the flag off of the Orientation/induction course and life skills training for 42 participants in Gusau, Zamfara State.

Nuhu Fikpo who urged the participants to concentrate on the training, explained that the youths consisting of Males and females under the CBTS will be trained on various skills to include, Knitting, fashion design, GSM repairs, computer appreciation and Make-up within the period of three months.

The Director General who was represented by the state coordinator of the NDE Hajia Hamza Kolo Hadiza noted that, a stipend of Five thousand Naira monthly will be paid the trainees for the three months while the master trainers will be paid Five thousand Naira per trainee in each month.

In his goodwill message, the Head of Vocational Skills Department (VSD) NDE headquarters, Abuja represented by Hajiya Lauratu Abdullahi said the training was an opportunity for the youths to acquire skills to become self employed or even employer of labour.

She therefore advised the participants who were drawn from the fourteen local government areas of the state to pay more attention to the training as laxity would not be tolerated.
