The Zamfara State Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and the State Police Command have assured their full support and cooperation with the Zamfara State Internal Revenue Service (ZIRS) in its efforts to boost the state’s revenue.
This commitment was disclosed by representatives of the two organizations during a courtesy visit by the Chairperson of ZIRS, Hajiya Rakiya Ahmed Dodo.
According to a press release issued by Sanusi Ibrahim S/Yamma, Public Relations Officer of ZIRS, the ministry was represented by its Director of Local Government Matters, Alhaji Muhammad Labaran Maradun, on behalf of the Commissioner, Alhaji Ahmad Garba Yandi. The police were represented by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abdullahi Ma’aji, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police.
Speaking during the visit, Hajiya Rakiya Ahmed Dodo stated that the aim of her engagement with the two organizations was to seek their collaboration and to brief them on new processes introduced to enhance revenue generation in the state.
She emphasized that the ZIRS was prepared to enforce compliance with vehicle document renewal, such as licensing and plate number registration, to ensure the security of lives and property.
Officials from both organizations expressed their readiness to contribute to strategies that would improve the state’s internally generated revenue (IGR).
They noted that enhanced revenue would enable the government to continue executing developmental projects across Zamfara.Hajiya Rakiya Ahmed Dodo was accompanied by all directors of the ZIRS during the visit.
