The United Nations Population Funds (UNFPA) has promised to offer intervention to less privileged persons in Kebbi State.
This was stated by the humanitarian coordinator for the united nation population found (UNFPA) Mr christian Marculey while delivering his speech at the Emir of Gwandu’s palace on monday the 15th of July, 2024.
Mr Chris also stated that the objective of their visit to kebbi state was to meet with the ministry of humanitarian affairs and other stakeholders with a view to identifying needs, challenges and possible intervention to offer in the state.
Mr Chris explained that, united nation Population Fund (UNFPA) has the mandate to promote health and right of women particularly the areas of developing health and also the area of prevention and respond to Gender Based Violence (GBV).
“Last year we had a visit to our office in Abuja by the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, to Discussed area of collaboration on humanitarian ground with the UNFPA, what they can do to support the state to addressed the ease of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state and also help in supporting capacity building of the present administration of His Excellency comrade Dr Nasir Idris Kauran-Gwandu.” He said.
Responding, the Emir of Gwandu major General muhammad Iliyasu Bashar congratulates mr chris and his team for being choosing the type of job to the humanity, pray Allah to guide and protect them while discharging their responsibilities, thanked them for coming to kebbi not for the first time but for severals time.
“I hope you are communicating with your communities, you are communicating with your parents, mother and fathers so that they know where you are and also what you are doing.” He added.
