Zamfara Govt to Implement Minimum Wage soon – HoS

Zamfara State head of Service called on labour Unions to remain calm as the state government has reached 70% of preparations to implement the thirty thousand Naira Minimum Wage.

He stated while delivering a remark at 4th Quadrennial Delegates conference of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, ASCSN, Zamfara State Chapter which took place in Gusau.

The head of Service who was represented by the permanent secretary office of the Head of Service, Alh. Yusuf Bakura said, the lingering issue between the state government and labour Unions concerning the national minimum wage will soon be implemented.

In his part, chairperson of the Nigeria labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Sani Halliru who was represented the acting Secretary, Comrade Abubakar Gusau called on workers to support NLC/TUC in their quest to ensure welfare of workers especially the issue of Thirty Thousand Naira Minimum Wage, saying, Unions in the need to be choosing good leaders who will inturn protect their rights.

Those elected unopposed during the delegates conference include, Sa’idu Mudi as Chairman; Bashir Hassan Maradun, Vice Chairman 1; Mustapha I Gusau, Vice Chairman 2 and Salisu Ibrahim Giwa, Treasurer and Mubarak Garba Marafa as internal Auditor.

While Sabiu Abdullahi, Shafa Labbo, Rukayya Abdullahi, and Iliya Muh’d K/kwashi were elected s Ex-officios.

In his inaugural speech, the newly elected chairman of the ASCSN Comrade Sa’idu Mudi called on the state government to look into workers demand and vowed to work assiduously with other labour Unions to fight for workers rights.
