
The First Lady of Zamfara State, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has donated Hajj seats to the overall winners of the 29th Qur’anic Recitation Competition.
This was contained in a statement signed by Rabi Yusuf, Press Secretary, Office of the First Lady, on Saturday.

The First Lady attended the closing ceremony of the week-long competition, where she praised organisers, scholars and participants for sustaining a programme that promotes Islamic knowledge and discipline among young people.
The event featured contestants from all 14 local government areas competing in Qur’an memorisation and commentary across various categories.

Hafiz Yusuf Tukur from Maru LGA and Hafiza Hajaru Abdullahi from Tsafe LGA emerged overall winners in the highest category, which includes memorising all sixty hizibs of the Qur’an along with full commentary.
Hajiya Huriyya congratulated winners across the six categories and encouraged them to excel at the national competition scheduled for December 2025 in Borno State. She also commended the Musabaqa Committee for its transparent coordination of the competition.
The Chairman, Zamfara State Council of Chiefs and Emir of Anka, Alhaji Attahiru Muhammad Ahmad, and the guest speaker, Malam Ibrahim Muhammad Sifawa, also applauded the organisers and the state government for ensuring a credible event.
A major highlight was the turbanning of the two overall winners and the presentation of Hajj seats by the First Lady. She further donated ₦100,000 to each participant from the 14 LGAs in appreciation of their commitment.
