Breaking: First time in history Nigerian Pilgrims land at Taif Airport in KSA

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, said  Today marked an important historic landmark in the development of Hajj Operations to Nigeria as its citizens for the first time landed at Daif International Airport, a town that’s approximately an hour drive from Makkah.

The two travel agencies brought with them one hundred 2023 Hajj Pilgrims and have headed to Madinah. 

This was revealed by the Principal information officer, Principal Information Officer, NAHCON-Makkah Operations’ Office, Muhammad Ahmad Musa in a statement he made available to journalists in Makkah.

According to him, the arrival into the Saudi Kingdom via Taif International airport was in accordance with the new developments introduced for this year’s Hajj by the Saudi Authorities to open more airports for arrivals of foreign Pilgrims into Saudi Arabia. 

“The new policy was mentioned by the Saudian Minister of Hajj at Jeddah OIC Meeting during his update to the delegation of the representatives of the member countries.” Musa added

The Makkah Deputy Coordinator Alhaji Alidu Shutti and Mutawwif Company Liaison officer of the NAHCON Dr. Aliyu Tanko and pressmen were at the airport to receive the Pilgrims.
