Ramadan: Muslims in Nigeria commence fasting Monday

The Sultan of Sokoto Alh Sa’adu Abubakar III has announced the termination of the month of Sha’aban, 1445AH (Islamic calendar) today Sunday, hence announced Monday 11 March, 2024 as the first day of Ramadan, 1445AH.

The sultan In a special nationwide broadcast said, the sultanate council has received reports from various traditional leaders, scholars and other sources confirming the sighting of the moon, saying after verification the sultanate confirmed the report.

Ramadan is an Islamic month during which Muslims fast from dawn to dusk for 29 or 30 days.
