Islamic Calendar: Zamfara Govt declares Public holiday for Muharram 1445AH

The Zamfara state government has declared a public holiday to mark the beginning of the new Islamic year, 1445 after Hijrah.

In a public announcement signed and made available to Zamfara State Radio and Television services by the Director Home affairs, Abubakar Muhammad Tsafe said,the state governor, Dauda Lawal approved the public holiday.

“The general public is hereby informed the, His Excellency the executive governor of Zamfara State Dr Dauda Lawal (Gamjin Gusau), has in accordance with the State Government’s  tradition, approved Wednesday 19th July, 2023 as public holiday to mark New Islamic Year (1st Muharram,1445AH).

“In view of the foregoing and persistent insecurity, His Excellency wishes the Muslims Ummah, happy and joyful new Islamic year 1445AH.” The announcement read.

Abubakar Tsafe further said, the governor enjoyed all and sundry to keep on praying for the restoration of peace,  glory and tranquility in the state.

Smarta News recalled that, His Eminence the Sultan of Sokoto has declared Wednesday 19th July, 2023 as the 1st day of Muharram, 1445AH
