Gov Dauda Appoints Gusau Airport Managing Director

Governor Dauda Lawal has approved the appointment of Kabir Yahaya Gusau as the pioneer Managing Director of the Gusau International Airport.

The Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, disclosed the approval in a statement, explaining that the appointment is part of efforts by the administration to ensure effective coordination and operational readiness of the airport project ahead of the commencement of operations.

The airport is expected to boost international connectivity, attract investment opportunities and promote economic growth in Zamfara State and the country at large.

Gusau is a served in several strategic roles in the aviation sector, including Airspace Manager at the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency at Gombe Airport, as well as Special Assistant to the Managing Director/Chief Executive of the agency. Until his appointment, he was the General Manager of Aeronautical Information Services at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja.

He holds a Master’s degree in Transport Planning and a Postgraduate Diploma in Transport Planning from Lagos State University, and certifications in Aeronautical Communication from the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology in Zaria.

Governor Lawal expressed confidence that the new managing director will use his expertise to ensure effective coordination and seamless airport operations in line with global standards.
