2027: Zamfara North Agog as Senator TY Kaura Declares Interest, Stakeholders Demand Block VotesThe political landscape of Zamfara North Senatorial District witnessed a massive awakening as former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Tijjani Yahaya Kaura Namoda, formally declared his intention to contest the senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

A mammoth crowd of enthusiastic supporters and party faithful descended on Kaura Namoda, effectively bringing economic and social activities to a standstill. The grand rally, which drew people from all four local government areas of the zone, Shinkafi, Zurmi, Birnin Magaji, and Kaura Namoda served as a powerful display of political solidarity for the former lawmaker’s ambition.
Addressing the overwhelming gathering, Senator Kaura stated that his renewed ambition is deeply rooted in human capital development and a strong commitment to restoring lasting peace and tranquility across the zone, Zamfara State, and the nation at large.

He expressed deep concern over what he described as the political marginalization of the district, lamenting that Zamfara North has been left behind in federal appointments and job placements.
According to him, the employment quotas meant for the zone are frequently diverted because there has been a lack of proactive leadership to secure and protect them for the benefit of the local youth.
Reflecting on his previous tenure in the Red Chamber, Senator Kaura reminded the audience of his track record, noting that his impactful presentations and legislative interventions successfully secured lucrative federal employment opportunities for countless youths in the district.

He vowed to bring back this vibrant and effective representation to ensure that the voice of Zamfara North is loudly and adequately heard on the floor of the Senate.
As a major highlight of his campaign promises, the former minister pledged to facilitate at least 2,000 job opportunities for the teeming youths of the constituency to combat unemployment and help mitigate the lingering security challenges in the region.
The event gained giant political momentum as top chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and critical stakeholders openly threw their weight behind his candidacy, calling on constituents to deliver block votes for Senator Kaura.

Former state chairmen of the APC, Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani and Dr. Lawal M. Liman, heavily endorsed the aspirant, describing him as the most qualified candidate to rescue the zone.
They sharply criticized the incumbent senator, arguing that despite serving multiple terms in the national assembly, the current representation has yielded no appreciable or visible results for the people of Zamfara North.
Further solidifying the endorsement, a coalition of prominent political leaders, elders, and youth representatives including former local government council chairmen from the four local government areas expressed total confidence in Senator Kaura’s suitability for the seat.
Prominent political figures, including Alhaji Hashimu Modomawa, Hajia Mabaruka Giwa Zurmi, Hassan Adamu Zurmi, Surajo Muhammad Birnin Magaji, Nuhu Isah Abiola, and Hon. Sani Galadima Shinkafi, spoke in turns to affirm their readiness to mobilize grassroots support.
They praised the aspirant’s history of youth empowerment and community development, contrasting his philanthropic record with standard opportunistic politics.
Reaffirming his motivations, Senator Kaura told the cheering crowd that his decision to join the race was born out of goodwill and a sincere desire to improve the well-being of his people, rather than any materialistic or monetary gain.
He concluded by commending the leadership of the APC in Zamfara State under the guidance of Governor Dauda Lawal, along with other high-level party leaders, praising their continuous dedication to ensuring party unity, harmony, and progress in all ramifications.
