The APC faction led by Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji, representing Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji federal constituency in the House of Representatives, has appointed a new party Chairman and Secretary.
The new Acting Chairman, Alhaji Isiyaka Ajiya Anka, formerly the Vice Chairman, and the new Acting Secretary, Mansur Halifa Kaura, formerly the Assistant Secretary, will lead the party as it heads into upcoming congresses.
In his acceptance speech, Acting Chairman Ajiya Anka explained that the changes were necessitated by the suspension of the former state Chairman, Tukur Danfulani-Maikatako, and the state Secretary, Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima, by their respective wards due to internal disputes and authoritarian behavior.
Ajiya emphasized that the APC, as Nigeria’s strongest party and the leading opposition in the state, cannot operate without effective leadership. He stated that the previous leadership had caused divisions within the party, preventing participation and unity.
The new Acting Chairman called for a stakeholders’ meeting to address these issues and seek solutions for the party’s challenges. He also urged security agencies and the party’s national headquarters to prevent the suspended leaders from claiming authority.
This leadership shake-up follows a series of suspensions within the party due to factionalism and internal conflicts.
