Reports from Bukkuyum-Anka axis in Zamfara State have indicated escalations of Banditry activities in communities mostly in Nasarawar Burkulla District, Bukkuyum Local Government area.
The communities affected by bandits onslaught include Kwali, Kamaru, Babban Baye, Tungar Rogo and Maiduma villages in Nasarawar Burkullu.
Displaced people who fled from their residents and took shelter in Nasarawa said that 18 people, 17 male and one female were killed on Wednesday 16th November, 2024 following the tragic attack by the bandits. unspecified number of people were also abducted or killed on their farmlands.
Bandit attacks have become a common occurrence in the Anka-Bukkuyum area, with deadly incidents primarily affecting farms as farmers attempt to harvest their crops during this year’s abundant season.
The Gurusu-Nasarawa area has became a death trap for commuters as bandits dislodged in Niger State acquired a new den in Makari and Gandu forests.
