Gov Dauda moves to end insecurity in Zamfara, Visits Defence Headquarters

The executive Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal has today  (Friday) visited Chief of Defence Staff General Lucky Irabor and canvassed more support from the military to overcome security challenges confronting the State to restore normalcy.

During the visit at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja, Governor Lawal, sought military support to end the lingering insecurity that claims thousands of lives and destruction of property worth billions of Naira in the state.

In a  statement by the Spokesperson of the Governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity) to the Governor of Zamfara State Said that the visit was part of the Governor’s efforts to restore normalcy  in the State.

“Governor Lawal visited the Defence Headquarters purposely to appreciate the efforts of the military in the fight against banditry in Zamfara State.

“He had a closed-door meeting with the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, to discuss key security issues and the way forward. the statement added

“It is the resolve of our government to recognize the responsibility of the Federal Government for internal security, which includes a close collaboration and cooperation with the Military. Gov Dauda said

Sulaiman added that the Governor was concerned over the lingering insecurity in Zamfara State, hence working closely with all relevant stakeholders especially the security agencies to restore peace and tranquility in the state.
