Some Recalcitrant Bandits in Zamfara have today attacked some villages under Maradun and Bakura local government areas but faced stiff resistance and denied freedom of action by the gallant troops of forward operating Base, Bakura under the popular Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) joint task force.
In a broad daylight of today (Saturday) June 3, 2023 the terrorists in their numbers stormed Rogoji and Sakida villages in Bakura and Maradun local government areas of Zamfara State but troops of joint task force northwest OPHD deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Bakura repelled the attack and killed several of them.

The troops who were on patrol received credible information of the bandits’ attack on the villages. On arrival at the village, Bandits fled on sighting troops advance, consequently, troops went on pursuit after the Bandits with heavy volume of fire and in the process 5 bandits were killed and the troops recovered 2 AK-47 rifles and some special ammunition.
Similarly the troops have recovered an unconfirmed number of cattles, Goats and Donkeys. The recovered animals were handed over to the owners at Sakida Magaji village.
However, the resilient troops continued with the operations in order to eliminate the bandits and deny them freedom of action.
