Labour unions in Zamfara State, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), have threatened to shut down the state if the government fails to address issues with the implementation of the new N70,000 minimum wage.
NLC Chairperson, Comrade Sani Halliru Kuryar, and TUC Chairman, Sa’idu Mudi, described the wage implementation as disappointing and a violation of the agreement between labour and the government.
The unions also demanded the immediate reinstatement of civil servants who were unlawfully dismissed, warning that failure to act could lead to industrial action.
