Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity and Presidential Spokesperson, has announced that he is taking an indefinite leave of absence from his official duties.
In a memo addressed to the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, Ngelale cited urgent medical issues within his immediate family as the reason for his decision.
“This difficult choice was made after extensive discussions with my family, following the deterioration of a serious medical condition at home,” Ngelale explained.
His absence will affect multiple roles, including his responsibilities as Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and Chair of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen, in addition to his duties as Presidential Spokesperson.
Ngelale acknowledged the gravity of his responsibilities, saying, “I understand that the ship of state moves forward regardless, but after careful consideration with my family, this decision became unavoidable.”
Though the exact length of his leave is unclear, Ngelale expressed a strong desire to return to service when the situation permits.
“I look forward to resuming my duties once healing, time, and fate allow,” he added.
