Zamfara: APC initiates statewide meetings amidst security concerns, praises Tinubu

The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) under the leadership of Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani, has launched a monthly meeting initiative across the state involving all party members across the state’s 14 local government areas.

In a statement signed and made available to SMARTS NEWS by the Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris Gusau, the inaugural meetings saw attendance from critical stakeholders, including state party executives from local governments and wards, youths, women, and party elders.

In Gusau, Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani chaired the session, while notable figures such as the immediate past chairman, Hon. Lawali M. Liman, and State Secretary Hon. Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima led the meetings in Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji.

Other local governments also had significant attendance from party chieftains, House of Representatives members, and State Assembly members.

Key discussions at these meetings focused on addressing challenges threatening party unity and strategizing on resolving grievances. The meetings also acknowledged the contributions of party leaders and elders, particularly the welfare efforts of Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, Minister of State for Defence, and Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

Security issues in Zamfara and the broader region were a major point of concern, with members expressing optimism that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s security measures will soon alleviate the region’s insecurity. The party lauded President Tinubu’s initiatives, including: Allocation of N10 billion to states and the Federal Capital Territory for bus procurement and CNG uplift programs; Distributing a N50,000 uplift grant to 100,000 families per state for three months and  Deploying N155 billion for purchasing and distributing assorted foodstuffs nationwide.

The APC urged its members to remain law-abiding and assured them of more welfare packages in the future. The party also called for continued prayers for the success of President Tinubu’s administration and party leaders.
