The Zamfara state house of assembly has resolved to commence screening of nominees for commissioners and executive council members in Zamfara State Government as well as the officers of Zamfara state independent Electoral commission (ZASIEC) on Wednesday.
This who disclosed by the Public Relations Officer of the assembly, Mr Nasir Usman Biyabiki in a Press release made available to ‘Media Smarts Nigeria’ in Gusau the state capital, said the house received the nominees from the executive governor of the state Dr Dauda Lawal in a letter sent to the speaker seeking for confirmation.
“Those to be screened are the nominated Executive Chairman and Permanent Commissioners of the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission, ZASIEC, and those who are to serve as Commissioners and Members of the State Executive Council.” He explained
He noted that the nominated Executive Chairman and Permanent Commissioners of the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission, ZASIEC, are to appear before the House on Wednesday 2nd August, 2023 while the eighteen nominees for the post of Commissioners are to appear before the House on Thursday 3rd August, 2023 for the screening.
Biyabiki reminded the nominees to submit their Curriculum Vitaes (CVs) and current Tax Clearance to the office of the Clerk of the House before attending the screening.
The communication letter containing the names of the nominees for the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission and those to serve as Commissioners was read by the Speaker of the house, Rt. Hon. Bilyaminu Isma’ila Moriki during a plenary session today (Tuesday)
