Zamfara Govt, PRNigeria begins training it social media influencers

Zamfara State ministry of information and culture in collaboration with the PRNigeria (a reputable news platform) have organized a two-day training of social media influencers in the state for positive reportage.

Media Smarts Nigeria reports that the workshop was scheduled to hold between 7th and 8th September, 2023 at the UBE Teacher Training center Gusau with participants drawn from the 14 local government areas of the state including other staff of the Ministry of Information.

In his opening remark, the commissioner of the ministry of information and culture Hon. Mannir Mu’azu Haidara said, the state government deemed it necessary to train the social media influencers with a view to making them equipped with modern trend, power and impact of social media in propagating the image of the present administration of Governor Dauda Lawal and other programs and policies of the state government and its populace.

He called on the participants to pay attention in order to harness the benefits of the two-day workshop to improve their capacity, saying the present administration of Governor Dauda Lawal is determined to ensure transformation of all sectors in the state with a view to developing the state in all ramifications.

In his address, the facilitator of the workshop from PRNigeria Muhammad Dahiru Lawal (MD) who is a multinational award winning Media expert and international Public Relations and Journalism Guru, urged the participants to develop a habit of careful listening and learning to ensure success of the set objectives.

Muhammad Lawal who drew the attention of the participants on the imperative of the training, said social media influencers need to be updated and receive continues training and retraining to eliminate misinformation, disinformation as well as to promote positive reportage that promote good governance and encourage leaders on accountability and transparent governance.
