Professor Ali Isah Ibrahim Pantami, former Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, has confirmed his participation in the upcoming annual conference of the Association of Media and Communication Researchers of Nigeria (AMCRON), scheduled for October 8, 2024.
This announcement came after a visit by AMCRON President, Professor Eserinune McCarty Mojaye, to formally invite the former minister.
During the visit, Professor Mojaye briefed Pantami on AMCRON’s recent activities and presented the official invitation to the conference, which is expected to draw prominent scholars, researchers, and practitioners in the field of media and communication.
In his response, Pantami expressed gratitude for the invitation and praised the association for its proactive efforts in addressing pressing national and international issues. “I am deeply impressed by the work you’re doing. Keep up the good work,” Pantami said, while confirming his attendance at the conference.
The annual conference is anticipated to be a major event, bringing together key stakeholders from across the media and communication sectors, both nationally and internationally. According to Professor Mojaye, the event will serve as a platform for discussing emerging trends in communication, the digital economy, and their intersections with national security.
“This year’s theme is particularly relevant as it tackles critical issues surrounding national security and the media’s role in addressing them,” the AMCRON president said.
Accompanying Professor Mojaye during the visit were AMCRON’s Secretary, Professor Abiodun Adeniyi, and Lawal Umar Maradun, a member of the conference’s Local Organizing Committee.
The event promises to foster meaningful discussions on the evolving landscape of communication and its impact on Nigeria’s security and development.
