NAF fighter jet kills about 100 bandits in Zamfara, destroys arms, motorcycles

Nigerian Air Force fighter jet under the Joint task force northwest Operation Hadarin Daji, OPHD, have bombed over 100 bandits at Dan Mani forest in Zamfara state.

Media Smarts Nigeria can authoritatively report that the operation followed an intelligence report about the bandits converging at Madada village in Maru local government area on Tuesday, who later moved towards Kebbi State with intent to attack military camp and other villages around in Kebbi state.

A source within the military said the Bandits had a stopover at Dandurgu having notified about the troops blocking position at Bena and Malenkachi forcing them to abandon the mission and changed their direction to Dansadau forest in Maru LGA of Zamfara State where the air components engaged them at Dan Mani forest between 1:30pm to 2:30pm during which over 100 bandits were killed.

The troops, at about 6:am today conducted a fighting patrol for assessment where they confirmed casualty in the terrorists with their bikes and weapons burnt. 

An intelligence report received by the OPHD in the afternoon (today) also indicated that there were  mass burials conducted at Sangeko village in Niger state and Babban Doka in MARU LGAs of ZAMFARA State. Another Report also confirmed the presence of the wounded bandits terrorists in Babban Doka.

The source with the OPHD said the troops are at present in action against the survivors of the bombardment.
