Protest: Zamfara APC suggests resolution through dialogue, negotiation for safety

The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a strong caution to citizens against participating in the upcoming nationwide protest, warning that it could be hijacked by criminals and lead to increased insecurity.

Following a meeting in Abuja with the APC National Working Committee, chaired by Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Zamfara APC Chairman, Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani in a statement he signed and made available to journalists, stressed the importance of maintaining stability and avoiding actions that could exacerbate the state’s already precarious security situation.

Danfulani highlighted historical instances where protests led to greater hardships, citing the cases of Sudan, Libya, Syria, and Kenya, where demonstrations escalated into widespread destruction and suffering.

He urged citizens to seek resolution through dialogue and negotiation, emphasizing that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is committed to improving Nigeria and has shown a willingness to engage with grassroots issues. Danfulani called for patience and support for the President’s efforts, warning against being swayed by external agitators who are not directly affected by the potential fallout of the protests.

The Zamfara APC leader concluded by appealing to the public to prioritize peace and unity for the sake of future generations, reinforcing the idea that constructive engagement, rather than protest, is the best path forward for the state and the country.
