The rerun election for Shinkafi local government state constituency is ongoing with a security operatives manning strategic locations for smooth conduct of the election.
SMARTS NEWS reports that Politicians of various political parties more especially the ruling party in the state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the National Party the All progressives Congress (APC) have stormed Shinkafi LGA to ensure Victory of their various candidates.
There was an alleged Vote buying by the political parties officials who were reported to have engaged in buying votes to the tune of Twenty Five thousand Naira, beside other items being distributed to the voters.
The electorate have massively turned out to cast their votes for candidates of their choice particularly the two major contenders in the election, Usman Mahmud of the APC and Mustapha Usman of the PDP.
No report of violence as at the time of confilling this report, even though there was an alleged presence of political thugs in some areas including VIPs who were seeing visiting some Poling Units with others on special duty in the election.
Nine polling units were involved in the rerun election with Benji/Filin Masau P.U 016 as the first Polling Units to submit its result to the Collation center at 2:00PM
