Senator Calls for Aggressive Action Following School Abduction

Senator Lawal Adamu Usman of the Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone has expressed deep concern and shock over the recent abduction of pupils from a primary school and students from a secondary school in Kuriga, Chikun Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, the Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone has witnessed an alarming increase in tensions due to a series of terrorist attacks, killings, and abductions in various communities across Kajuru, Chikun, Birnin-Gwari, Giwa, and Igabi Local Governments in the past few weeks.

Senator Usman, representing the affected area, extended heartfelt sympathies to the families affected by the Kuriga abduction and those who lost their lives in the recent wave of violence. He acknowledged the efforts of the security forces in working diligently to secure the release of the abducted children but emphasized the need for a more proactive approach.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the current state of security, Senator Usman called on governments at all levels and security forces to adopt a more assertive stance, urging them to shift from reactive measures to proactive strategies in dealing with criminals terrorizing communities.

Highlighting the successes achieved by security forces in containing terrorist attacks, the Senator stressed the necessity of taking the fight directly to the doorstep of the terrorists’ enclave. He emphasized the urgency of decisive action to restore peace and security to the affected regions.
