Welfare: Zamfara workers to receive 13th-Month salary bonus

Governor Dauda Lawal has approved the payment of a 13th-month salary to civil and public servants in Zamfara State, marking a milestone in his administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare as disclosed in a circular issued on December 28, 2024, by the Zamfara State Head of Service.

According to Sulaiman Bala Idris, spokesperson for the governor, this initiative reflects the administration’s dedication to empowering workers and stimulating economic growth in the state.

“The bonus, amounting to 30% of employees’ basic salaries, is the second of its kind in Zamfara’s history, the first was also introduced by Governor Lawal in December 2023.” Sulaiman said.

The gesture, extended to civil servants and retirees, indicates the government’s acknowledgment of the workforce’s contributions, particularly during the festive period.

In addition to the 13th-month salary, the administration has implemented several pro-worker policies, including the clearance of over ₦10 billion in gratuity arrears, the introduction of a ₦70,000 minimum wage, and the timely payment of salaries.
