The Zamfara State House of Assembly officially reinstated Hon. Mannir Mu’azu Haidara as the Executive Chairman of Kaura Namoda Local Government Council during its plenary session on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
The resolution followed a progress report from the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, which cleared Haidara of financial allegations stemming from an investigation into the 2025 local government accounts.
The decision, presided over by Deputy Speaker Hon. Adamu Aliyu Gummi, also took into account a formal letter of apology submitted by Haidara. In the letter, the Chairman addressed previous administrative lapses and his initial failure to honor legislative invitations.
Members of the House subsequently supported the committee’s recommendations, voting unanimously for his immediate return to office.Hon. Haidara had been under suspension since April 8, 2026, a move intended to ensure an unhindered investigation into local government expenditures.
With his name now cleared, the Assembly has directed the immediate restoration of his executive authority, allowing him to resume his duties effectively.
