Gov Dauda approves 108km Magami to Dansadau Road Project at N81.19b

Governor Dauda Lawal has approved the construction of a 108 KM road from Magami to Dansadau in Zamfara State, aimed at improving security and the welfare of local communities.

The decision was made during the Zamfara State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House in Gusau on Monday.

Sulaiman Bala Idris, the governor’s spokesperson, announced that this infrastructure project is of immediate priority to address pressing security concerns and enhance the quality of life for residents. During the council meeting, other critical issues, including budget performance, were also deliberated upon.

The project, outlined in the 2024 Budget, marks a substantial progression with the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure securing the governor’s approval to initiate the process for awarding the contract.

Following the Bureau of Public Procurement’s authorization, the contract has been awarded to Dantata and Sawoe Construction Co. Ltd. for N81.19 billion. The company was selected as the lowest responsive bidder, committing to complete the project within 18 months.

The road construction will involve extensive work, including clearing the construction area, scarifying the existing road surface, removing unsuitable materials, and using approved materials for replacement.

Additionally, the project will feature the installation of hydraulic structures, such as reinforced concrete drains, and access cover slabs at designated locations.
