Kebbi State Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar has been extolled for his hard work, trustworthiness and contributions to national development.
In a statement signed by the Chief press secretary, office of the deputy governor, Murtala M Gotomo said, Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State made the description today 11th of July, 2023 at a grand reception organized by Sultan Abubakar College Sokoto Old Boys Association (SACOBA) in honour of the Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, in Birnin Kebbi
The Kebbi State Governor, who was represented by the State Head of Service, Alhaji Sufiyanu Garba Bena congratulated the celebrant and commended the association for organizing the historic event.
Gov Nasir who described Senator Umar Abubakar as a man of integrity and dedication said that with the Deputy Governor, the state government would be able to deliver well for the people of the state.
In his remarks, the representative of the Emir of Gwandu, Magajin Garin Gwandu a classmate of the celebrant, Alhaji Aminullahi Umar informed the gathering that he graduated in 1979 with Senator Umar Abubakar. He described Umar Tafida as humble, honest and dedicated.
Earlier Speaking the Chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Malami Abdulkadir congratulated the Deputy Governor for the honour, explained that the reception was clear evidence to debunk the rumour and allegation that Senator Umar did not complete secondary School.
In their separate remarks, the Chairman of the Association, Ahmed Adamu Jega, Former Speaker of Sokoto State, Hon. Aliyu Abubakar Tureta, Professor Suleman Khalid Jega, Engineer Sani Umar among others described Senator Umar Abubakar as gentle, a mentor and great talent
Responding, the Celebrant and the State Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafidan Kabi, said he was honored and overwhelmed with joy for the show of love, and expressed gratitude to the organizers of the event for the honor.
Senator Umar said the mammoth event served as an avenue to strengthen the bond of relationship among members of SACOBA.
Members of the association from Sokoto, Zamfara and Kebbi States graced the occasion.
Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of awards to the Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafidan Kabi by the Association.
