Zamfara state government has released 4000 bags of grains for distribution to the over sixty (60,000) thousand workers of the state as palliatives from the federal government to minimize the effect of fuel subsidy removal.
This was revealed by the Chairperson of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) comrade Sani Halliru in Gusau during the flag off of the distribution, saying grains consist of 2000 bags of Rice and 2000 bags of Maize.
Comrade Sani Halliru who thanked governor Dauda Lawal for gesture said, they are still expecting the palliatives from the state government apart from that of the federal government which according to him the 4000 bags of the grains can not go round the over 60,000 workers of the state.
He therefore appealed to the workers to accept the little they get even though not all of them will be given due to the quantity the labour centers received.
Sani who spoke on behalf of the NLC and TUC noted that Workers in Ministries, Departments and Agencies; Local government staff, Primary teachers and health workers at the Primary health care are among the beneficiaries of the palliatives.
