The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued Certificate of Return to Rufai Sani Hanga as Senator-elect, on Tuesday in Abuja, as per Freedom Radio Nigeria’s report. Meanwhile, Hanga will represent Kano Central Senatorial District in the 10th assembly at the Red Chamber.
This development was in compliance with the Supreme Court’s judgement which instated Mr Hanga as the lawful flag-bear of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the February 25, 2023 National Assembly Elections.
Reports indicated that the court replaced former governor of Kano state, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, as the Senator-elect for Kano Central Senatorial District under the platform of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) who was initially declared the winner by INEC.
