The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged the Muslim community to utilize the Eid-El-Kabir celebrations as a time for prayer and unity to address the ongoing insecurity challenges in the state and beyond.
In a statement released by the publicity Secretary of the party Yusuf Idris, said the party congratulated the Muslim faithful on witnessing another Eid-El-Kabir and emphasized the importance of gratitude and piety during the festive period.
The APC expressed its gratitude to Allah for the privilege of life, encouraging members to seek divine guidance and protection. “Many have had plans for this season, but by Allah’s special grace, they have not lived to see this day, so we thank Allah SWT for counting us among the living,” the statement read.
While highlighting the significance of the festival, the APC called on the community to reflect on their lives, strive for piety, and maintain good relations with one another. The party reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the people through acts of generosity and goodwill.
In a notable show of support for the community, key APC leaders made substantial donations to ease the festive celebrations. His Excellency Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, contributed 4,860 rams and 390 million Naira, while Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar distributed 28 trucks of rice and 380 cows. These donations have significantly alleviated the hardships faced by the people, ensuring a joyful Eid celebration.
Additionally, Hon. Muktar Shehu Idris donated 1,000 rams to party members across the state, and Alhaji Sanusi Bala Maituta contributed 25 rams to the state secretariat. The APC acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of all those who assisted party members in their respective constituencies, praying for abundant rewards for their generosity.
The APC called on the faithful to intensify prayers for unity, peace, and understanding to overcome the security challenges in Zamfara State.
“As the celebrations continue, the APC hopes that the spirit of Eid-El-Kabir will foster stronger community bonds and pave the way for a more secure and prosperous Zamfara State.” Yusuf added
